Nodes need matching radio settings to communicate. The preset controls the balance between range and airtime. A map pin alone does not tell you whether two devices can hear each other.

Internet maps use reports that reach an MQTT service. Reporting is optional, and positions may be approximate. Choose the location precision you are comfortable sharing before enabling public map reporting.
